Boxerwood Gardens
This horticultural treasure is less than a mile from Lexington. Boxerwood Gardens is a private collection of mature "rare and unusual trees and shrubs". Among the hundreds of trees on the 15 acres are noteworthy collections of Dwarf Conifers, Dogwoods, Magnolias, Rhododendrons, Azaleas and Japanese Maples as well as occasional pieces of man-made art.
Lexington Valley Vineyard
Lexington Valley Vineyard is a family owned Virginia Farm Winery. The vineyard grows French/American hybrid grapes that produce different and unique complex tastes. The varieties include Norton, Vignoles, Traminette - and coming varieties include Vidal blanc, Catawba, and Marachal Foch. No Charge for tasting. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the casual atmosphere and relaxed ambiance.
Orchardside Berry Farm
Pick your own thornless blackberries, blueberries, black raspberries & red raspberries. Nothing is better than fresh picked.

Rockbridge Vineyard
Rockbridge Vineyard, located in the historic and beautiful countryside of Rockbridge County is just twenty minutes north of downtown Lexington. The vineyard produces fine Virginia wines, which have won many awards in national and state competitions. Rockbridge Vineyard is open May through October for tours, tastings and various festivals.
Valley of Virginia Wildflower Meadow
Six acres of beautiful wildflowers in their natural ‘meadow’ setting. These native perennial wildflowers attract various butterflies and songbirds for visitors to observe and enjoy. Nature trails, picnic tables and benches are available for the public.
Virginia Gold Orchard
Virginia Gold Orchard is a family-owned Asian pear orchard just 10 minutes south of downtown Lexington. Their pears are unique in that they are certified organic and still meet Virginia‘s Finest standards. The orchard offers tasting of the various fruit, picnic tables, a picnic pavilion and a self-guided tour of the orchard.
